Water is a mix between ATK and DEF monsters
Fire is geared around higher ATK
Earth is geared around higher DEF

- you may still play with other element cards if you choose a certain one for example you can still collect fire cards if your a water element
- if you choose a certain element those cards will get a minor boost based on your monsterpedia collection
